Beacon House Peer Recovery Center
The Beacon House is a Consumer-Operated Service Program (COSP) drop-in peer support center for adults who may have any kind of physical or emotional challenge. The center is staffed with trained peers who encourage hope and promote independence and self-reliance.
The center offers a relaxed atmosphere with support and socialization. Participants are welcomed and treated with respect and dignity. In addition to assistance linking participants to services located in the community based on need such as housing, behavioral health treatment and vocational rehabilitation services, participants have access to peer support, structured group support, and self-help activities. These services can help people overcome physical, economic and social barriers that they normally encounter.
The Beacon House Peer Recovery Center is open every day, Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Coffee and canteen service is always available, and lunch is available each Tuesday at noon.
The Beacon House Peer Recovery Center is a member of the Maine Association of Peer Support and Recovery Centers (MAPSRC) and is recognized as an evidence-based model of care through incorporation of community integration.
